Writing Section The common app personal statement requires you to choose from five prompts, which are basically starting points for your essay. If you're looking for some solid tips and advice on an effective admissions essay, you've come to the right place. Students must complete the essay portion of either application to be considered for admission. Our enrollment team is ready to guide you and your family through this critical process. This new approach to essay 2 will give candidates a bit more flexibility than last year’s question to share past accomplishments and detail potential contributions to the Wharton community. This question gives you the freedom to consider talents, impressive extracurricular accomplishments, and/or unique professional skills. It ends with a strong closing paragraph or summation. The body of the essay is where you make the sale that your thesis is true. There all kinds of ways to write a college essay and there is no perfect form as long as your piece is engaging, logical, revealing … and answers the prompt. Be sure to do your research on all that Wharton has to offer and to be specific on the contributions you will make. Instead, select a few unique areas where you will contribute and discuss the mark you hope to leave. I advise candidates to think broadly here about what makes them unique and how they have succeeded both professionally and personally in the past. received a school readiness grant from the state of Connecticut, expanding it’s role in the community through collaboration with the Waterbury School System.
